The hotel is located in the vibrant Dostoyevsky district, near the city center, with easy access to public transport or taxi. It is also possible to reach the Winter Palace by walking along the Nevsky ave. the breakfast is amazing, with a wide variety of food, including red caviar and champagne. the staff is very kind, welcoming, and helpful. the room is spacious, with comfortable bed and bathrooms, and well-stocked minibar.
The aesthetic of the hotel may not be to everyone's taste.

The reviewes on Booked.net were very helpful and painted quite a comprehensive picture, so there were no surprises. The front desk staff is very helpful and nice. The included breakfast is delicious (albeight perhaps overpriced, judging by the provided rate breakdown), and the staff there is also very helpful and courteous. The location is within a walking distance from the main railway station, on the city's main avenue (Nevsky Prospect) with all its nice restaraunts, pubs and action. It is about 30-min walk from the Winter Palace and other main tourist attractions on or near the Neva embankment; one can take a bus there but we welcomed and enjoyed walks along Nevsky Prospect.
The standard room is pretty austere. Actually, it is comfortable; however some redecorating could help. The floor carpeting has some strange dirty color, and although the room is not worn-out by any means and is in rather good condition, the carpet certainly ruins visual impression. During our 4-night stay there was once a wedding at "F.M. Dostoyevsky" restaurant, and we could here it in our 3rd-floor room rather well. But it was over by 1 am. Finally, we would like to point out that the hotel's lobby has busts of (allegedly) Roman emperors that do not look like their namesakes at all. Emperors Trajan or Tiberius had completly different facial features (can be seen in the Hermitage museum, by the way).

Excellent location near a lively area, within walking distance to iconic Church on the Spilled Blood, and a metro station nearby. The hotel offered a great breakfast spread with red caviar and champagne, and the staff were very friendly.
Nothing not too like.

Excellent staff and cuisine.
Usually, the hotel is very expensive. Probably, it will be fine to give a discount for visitors of DOSTOEVSKI.

This hotel offers luxurious facilities and exclusive amenities that cater to all our needs. the room was spacious, elegant, and equipped with the latest technologies, providing us with a comfortable and relaxing stay. the private facilities were outstanding and ideal for a romantic getaway. the staff were attentive and provided excellent service. the breakfast offerings were diverse and scrumptious. the location provided us with easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.
The only minor issue we faced was the lack of noise insulation. the noise from the street could sometimes be heard, causing momentary disturbances to our otherwise serene stay.

Excellent location.
A bit noisey in the evenings from the restaurant. No natural light in the rooms.

I spent a wonderful Christmas at this hotel. the location was perfect, just a short walk from the main shopping street. the room was comfortable and clean, and the daily turndown service with tasty treats was a delightful touch. the hotel offered a complimentary sparkling wine upon arrival, which was a nice welcome gesture. the high-speed and free Wi-Fi was extremely convenient.
The heating in the room was difficult to control and the temperature tended to be too hot most of the time. there was some noise disturbance from neighboring rooms periodically.

the location and the kindness of the staff, the fact they speak english but particularly the willing to help you in the best way whwn confronted with problems with the rooms.
the hotel is not 5 stars and is misguiding the client with that clasification, the standar room are almost poor and has nothing to do with a 5 star hotel. the breakfast is aboundant but the quality is not the best
